Senior Electrification Application Engineer - ONSITE ROLEMorrisville, North Carolina (27560)Pay: Negotiable depending on directly related engineering for electrical drives/electrification experienceThis is an onsite position due to the vehicle testing requirements. North Carolina is a beautiful place. Less than 2 hour's drive to the beaches and to the mountains.You will sit between the Morrisville Engineering lab and John Deere Cary sites.In this position at John Deere placed by Kelly Services, you will focus on the design and the development of the electric drive systems in a production environment. This position does not involve detailed component board development but does involve components of the electrification system including Electric Motors, Alternators, Batteries, Power Electronics, Software Performance/Parameters, Converters, Inverters, and Controls.Key Focus: Writing System Requirements Picking and selecting the set of components to put into the system/vehicle that meets the requirements 3+ years of technical experience relating to the design of the electrical drive systems Design electrical drive systems in a production environment – (System design is a combination of the motors, electronics, batteries, and software) Software Parameters - Determining and choosing the right performance parameters to meet performance (Control gains, limits, slew rates, protection thresholds, algorithm performance parameters) Testing - Lab testing for systems and vehicle testing to include functional performance, environmental testing, and durability testing (25% of role) Vehicle Integration: Taking the components and physically installing/integrating them onto a John Deere tractor (Knowing how to put all the pieces together in a system = motor, electronics, the battery, the software) Knowledge of vehicle engineering will be helpful in this role (examples include: agriculture, construction, automotive, recreation, or mining)Travel may be required domestically.Important information: To be immediately considered, please send an updated copy of your resume to Deas172@kellyservices.com.
