Serve as partner to business leaders for regulatory exams, and monitor the overall control environment to minimize risk exposure.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFollowing is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Ensure the risk identification, measurement, and monitoring of business processes and activities.

Execute testing, root cause analysis, examine key risk metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of established business controls.

Make recommendations and provide practical solutions for the update of Business Unit control, policy, procedure, and risk/control documentation; advise on control enhancements.

Assist with remediation of control failures.

Serve as the subject matter expert to assigned business unit(s) for operational or regulatory compliance control implementation, risk mitigation and effective design of controls.

Develop and maintain effective channels of communication with Business Unit Risk Management Leaders, Business Unit Leadership, 2nd and 3rd Line of Defense partners regarding activities, trends, and events identified through control monitoring activities.

Lead project and mentor team members.

QUALIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and related training

Ten years of experience in a financial institution with emphasis on risk management, audit and/or line of business specialty

Solid knowledge of risk management principles and controls, broad-based business practices, and understanding of business process and regulatory requirements

Knowledge of large bank, and securities risk frameworks, including FINRA, SEC, ERISA, Sarbanes-0xley, and other applicable federal and state law

Excellent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills, as job will require extensive interaction with various business units among multiple disciplines including Senior Leadership across Truist

Strong influencing and presentation skills (written and verbal)

Proven ability to influence and work within teams

Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to operate without close supervision

Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with Issue Validation and/or Audit

LOCATION: Ideal candidates would be located in one of the following locations: Atlanta, GA, Richmond, VA or Charlotte, NC and responsible for working a 3 day hybrid schedule.
