JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of IT and technology innovation programs serving multiple healthcare related business sectors within the Compass Group organization while ensuring business value meets or exceeds stakeholder expectations. This includes ensuring programs are aligned with the Compass strategic business plan and have business sector sponsorship, appropriate business cases and measurable benefits. To be successful in this role, the Sr. Program Manager must possess creative energy and passion for delivering complex innovative product solutions. This role reports directly to the Sr Manager of Healthcare Application Development.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Oversee the creation and execution of the portfolio of programs driven by multiple business sectors within the organization while ensuring the realization of benefits within the time, cost, and quality constraints.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensure efficient and effective execution of the programs leveraging the IT standard tools/processes.
  • Govern key programs across multiple business sectors.
  • Maintain the overall roadmap and planning for assigned programs.
  • Build business cases and defined success criteria for the project prior to project approval.
  • Conduct program status meetings and communicate status at various levels within the organization as required.
  • Deliver information to senior leadership and internal business partners in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Advise Project Managers on the management of project scope, issues, schedules, requirements, resource assignments/allocations, deliverables, budgets, risks and communications. Assess the performance of programs, projects and project managers.
  • Manage the creation and change management of the overall portfolio with a focus on benefits.
  • Consistently find ways to solve business partner problems with effective solutions that minimize effort yet produce high value solutions.
  • Manage a portfolio of diverse projects/programs including interdependencies between the work streams and business sectors.
  • Drive cross-functional team members to develop detailed project schedules and milestones, project plans, budgets, scope, and timeline.
  • Develop program budgets and integrate program costs into the organization-level budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure effective team identification of project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies; acts as an escalation point for the team and implement effective mitigation strategies by taking corrective action to achieve resolution and project goals.
  • Ensure the Process and Tools are in alignment
  • Ensure the initiation and closure of programs/projects are properly executed and reflected in the project management and time reporting tools.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the project team.
  • Manage external delivery partners and contractors as required.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • 7 + years of experience in technology program management (Wireless, Hospitality, Application Development, Healthcare IT)
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS, Business or related discipline
  • Strong project management, negotiation, customer service and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated effective program management experience (Product Development, Solution Implementation)
  • High level of experience developing and managing project timelines, resources, vendors, and budgetary requirements for large, complex projects.
  • Strong problem solving skills with ability to convert abstract ideas into tangible results
  • Strong focus on delivering a quality customer experience
  • Proven ability to manage in a matrix environment and partner with IT and business area representatives in leading and supporting development and deployment activities
  • Excellent soft skills such as leadership, communication, facilitation, listening and collaborative skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • High level of experience with Healthcare Technologies including EMR systems, HIPAA, SOC2
  • PMI PMP Project Management Professional Certification
  • ITIL Certification
  • Agile Software delivery methodology experience
  • Proficient in MS Project
  • Proven background in application and new product development methodologies, SDLC, Agile, Scrum, and other IT industry standards.
  • Ability to analyze and review programming code such as Java, Javascript, and SQL
  • Knowledge of modern APM and DevOps tools
  • Knowledge of AWS platforms and services
  • Preferred work location is Charlotte, NC - but open to remote work from any U.S. location for a strong candidate.
