senior Scala Developer for banking and financial services client based in

Cary, NC (Hybrid) with experience or aptitude to learn Big Data technologies to build and enhance our team’s technical capabilities. The developer will be working across multiple technologies and will need to work together with a cross domain team to ensure delivery of critical business capabilities. This will mean sharing your technical expertise with teammates and being willing to learn and take up tasks with technologies that may not be your primary skill set. Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze user requirements and design appropriate big data solutions that best fit those requirements
  • Work in a cross functional Agile Scrum team to design, develop, test, and maintain solutions
  • Ensure that solutions are in line with department and domain architecture strategies and contribute to defining and improving those strategies
  • Help build, maintain, and continually implement tests for an automated testing framework that drives integration tests front to back across components
  • Work collaboratively by sharing knowledge and helping mentor teammates in your areas of expertise

Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in enterprise development with Java with Spring Boot or Scala using Akka HTTP
  • Aptitude to learn Big Data technologies (such as Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, Hive, Impala, Yarn, and Oozie)
  • Experience with all layers of the development stack, including automated test and deployment frameworks, to be able to collaboratively deliver front-to-back solutions, as well as champion best practice development techniques
  • Understanding and experience designing and building REST microservices and concurrency (multi-threading), distributed systems development, and performance optimization
  • Experience setting up Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines in a containerized deployment environment (such as Openshift, Kubernetes, and Jenkins)
