Job Title: Travelling Sprinkler FitterJob DescriptionThe individual will assist the foreman in the installation of fire sprinkler systems at the newly constructed Asheville Regional Airport project. The candidate will use a tape measure to measure and cut materials and must be proficient in cutting, threading, and grooving pipes.Responsibilities
Assist the foreman with the installation of fire sprinkler systems.
Measure and cut materials using a tape measure.
Proficiently cut, thread, and groove pipes.
Install threaded piping ranging from 1” to 2” in diameter, including hangers and seismic bracing.
Install grooved piping ranging from 2” to 6” in diameter, including hangers and seismic bracing.
Read fire protection installation drawings and follow directions accurately.
Ensure safe use of hand tools such as wrenches, tape measures, and levels.
Utilize electric or battery-operated tools including core drills, hammer drills, impact drills, bandsaws, 300 threading machines, and groovers.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in sprinkler pipe fitting.
Proficiency with cutting, threading, and grooving sprinkler piping.
Ability to lift materials up to 100 lbs.
Experience working off ladders and scissor lifts.
Knowledge of NFPA 13 standards for sprinkler installation.
Capability to read fire protection installation drawings.
Safe use of hand tools such as wrenches, tape measures, and levels.
Experience with electric or battery-operated tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Own transportation.
Basic hand tools including a tape measure, channel locks, and a 10” torpedo level.
