Job Description:

The Senior Business Control Specialist is responsible for governance & oversight of GT policies and standards. End to end governance & oversight includes development, implementation, and maintenance of all GT owned policies/standards and compliance with Global Policy Management - Enterprise Policy. The Senior Business Control Specialist is expected to formally engage Policy and Standard owners and delegates, business control representatives and other support partners across GT and GCOR to facilitate end to end Policy management process, provide ongoing guidance and support on any policy management activities that include policy/standard refreshes, creation of new policy/standards, policy transfers or retirements. The Senior Business Control Specialist will assist with special projects and operational excellence efforts, to ensure continuous process improvements and assist in creating a sustainable governance model to track adherence to GT Policy Management playbook and relevant standard operating procedures.

Primary Responsibilities include:
  • Provide leadership, and ongoing support and guidance to GT policy/standard owners and delegates
  • Facilitate end-to-end process for development and maintenance of new Policies and Standards, review/approval of policy/standard changes, Policy transfers, and retirement of existing Policies and Standards
  • Lead efforts in extending governance & oversight function to include comprehensive reporting on performance metrics related to policy and standard requirements
  • Ensure GT Policy governance process is compliant with Global Policy Management - Enterprise Policy
  • Lead cross functional teams to strategize, plan and execute GT Policy Impact process. Take ownership and lead from the front
  • Assist in leading GT wide coordination effort on Enterprise Policy OPEX horizontal Project
  • Assist in leading GT wide effort in establishing governance &oversight function for Policy/Standard change impact assessment process
  • Assists in remediating GT owned Policy related Issues and control enhancements
  • Facilitate monthly GT Policy Update Forum and other established routines
  • Liaison with Enterprise Policy Management team, GT Risk Committee and support partners
  • Be the central Point of Contact for all GT policy related questions

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 4-6+ years of program / project management experience within a control function
  • A proven ability to build strong working relationships, consult, and communicate effectively with GT leadership, divisional leadership, key stakeholders and partners
  • Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, and ability to prioritize requests and workload accordingly, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated to deliver results with minimal direction
  • Advanced development skills with SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, and other reporting tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates commitment to excellence by anticipating needs, mitigating risks, and minimizing potential problems
  • Collaborative, team player with the ability to connect across groups
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Proficient with MS Office (word, PowerPoint, excel), SharePoint, and Visio

Desired Skills:
  • Prior business process management or control framework knowledge
  • Knowledge of Global Technology / Global Operations business processes
