Job Summary:As the Sr Manager of Buyflow Services Platform & Operations, you will lead a team of Platform Engineers responsible for maintaining the reliability and availability of both our cloud-based and on-premise applications and services. You will be responsible for delivering resilient platforms to support critical revenue generating systems. Additionally, you will develop and implement best practices (with a strong emphasis on security and cloud-based technologies) and play a key role in driving operational excellence across the organization. This role is 70% leadership and 30% hands on.Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of technical platform engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Develop and implement strategies to enhance system reliability, performance, and scalability.

Collaborate with development, product, and operations teams to align team practices with business goals.

Operational Excellence:

Establish and monitor metrics to ensure systems meet reliability and performance target.

Lead automation initiatives to reduce manual efforts and enhance system resilience and scalability.

Collaboration & Communication:

Serve as a key stakeholder in technical discussions, advocating for dev/ops principles and best practices.

Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring organizational alignment.

Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSRequired Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Demonstrated understanding of reactive platforms like Akka, Node.JS, Play, etc.

Demonstrated understanding GraphQL based APIs

Demonstrated in-depth understanding of public cloud infrastructure services capabilities such as AWS

Demonstrated in-depth understanding of modern microservices architectures employed at web scale

Ability to operate customer facing production services at web scale, 24/7/365

Demonstrated in-depth understanding of DevOps principles and practices

Ability to analyze and resolve issues, both logical and interpersonal

Demonstrated effective communications skills including presentation skills Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively

Required Education

BA or BS College Degree or related work experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

Telecommunications, Product and/or equivalent experience - 7+ Software engineering team management - 3+ Distributed computing software development - 3+ Experience developing distributed software operating in JVM and on Linux

Experience leading people and projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Knowledge of telecommunication/cable services or industry experience

Preferred Education

Master’s Degree or MBA
