What you'll do

We're looking for a Sizing Analyst to understand our unique software offerings and ensure hardware is appropriate whether installing in the customer's site or supporting the ability to run the software as a service. Recommendations are based on best practices, benchmarking, and solution specific guidelines.

You will:

Sizing Analysts will execute day-to-day activities to provide timely and accurate estimates in response to specific detailed requests provided on the behalf of customers. Sizing Analysts will participate in a collaborative community seeking to provide customers with an excellent experience. This community includes roles like Global Sizing Analysts, Product Managers, and Customer Success Team members.
  • Determine the best approach to a sizing including the detailed work needed to support new offerings - request/study benchmarks, interview product managers, consult with the development teams and customer success team members.
  • Respond to sizing requests for established offering using responses to questions about the customer, interactions with the requestor, and a sizing tool calculator.
  • Provide expertise and education around the sizing process to parties internally.
  • Help internal resources to get the best results to their sizing requests/efforts by taking time upfront to consult with the to ensure the result will meet their needs.

What we're looking for
  • 3-5 years of experience directly supporting hardware sizing, customer deployments, providing benchmark studies, or architectural plans.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and determine best courses of action.
  • Cloud provider experience/expertise (Azure, AWS, and/or CGP)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker & Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge and implementation experience of SAS Viya and SAS solutions.
  • Experience working with or providing support for databases.
  • Using a sizing calculator tools, complex math, complex calculating tools
  • Effective communicator and leader.
  • Prefer education in Engineering, Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or another applicable Technical Degree.

The nice to haves
  • System administration experience on Unix/Linux and Windows.
  • Server infrastructure (Server models, chipsets, cores, memory, threading) and associated performance options and communication protocols (TCP/IP, ARP, etc.)
  • Working experience in the multi-tier environment supporting multiple tier applications.
  • Knowledge on hardware platforms like Dell, HPE, etc. and around performance and storage.
