Responsibilities Serves as a project team leader and direct team members assigned for specific projects in matters pertaining to the development and management of mid to long-range plans and policies. Provide day to day continuity for Command efforts in support of the Strategic Planning mid to long-range strategic guidance for force development analysis capabilities in achieving operational and strategic end states and objectives. Evaluate global and national trends, world threat, present and future required capabilities. Implement Special Operations plans, policy and strategy as they relate strategic guidance development. Prepare briefings, studies, fact sheets, and correspondence on mid to long-range strategic plans, policies and programs. One year of specialized experience in 1) Developing, analyzing, and implementing mid and long-range theater command strategic plans (OPLAN, Theater Campaign Plans, Campaign Support Plans, Mission Guidance Letters, etc.); 2) Analysis of theater command strategic plans to determine Special Operations operational mission requirements; 2) Conducting reviews of current global and national trends and national policy guidance (NSS, NDS, NMS, JSCP, etc.); 3) Experience in Mid and Long-Range Capabilities based planning processes and 4) Experience in Force Development processes of mid and long-range required capabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
