TCI has an immediate need for a

Technical Writer in Raleigh, NC. This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of hire. NOTE: This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.

Hybrid remote work is permitted with three days onsite in Raleigh, NC and two days offsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create Policy documents and work with engineers to create network topology diagrams.
  • Work with engineering teams to develop required tool, application or service training for end users. Document required and specialized training opportunities. Align with Organizational Training and Awareness team to ensure all technical training meets enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate with corporate communications to ensure communications plans, documentation and training are aligned and assist in creating departmental communications.
  • Engage and collaborate with end users to address content gaps, respond to feedback and promote continuous improvement of documentation experience.
  • Write clear and concise task-based information for a technical audience; familiarity with cybersecurity communications language and subject matter.
  • Align with Organizational Training and Awareness team to ensure all technical training meets enterprise standards.
  • The Technical Writer supports the full life cycle of the Deployment and Service Delivery process from pre-analysis of RFP documents to final production and delivery of statements of work, testing parameters, training materials and subsystem and solution implementation and operation guides.
  • The Technical Writer is an integral position supporting the delivery and lifecycle support process by writing clear, descriptive, user-friendly documentation that serves Endpoint Technology Engineering (ETE) business unit.
  • The technical writer working for ETE is responsible for capturing functional details of the work of the seven operational teams within ETE and translating them into a formal Standard Operations Procedures manual that can be used for reference and workload transitions across ETE. Important key components are strong ability to plan, edit, write, review, and put in production.
  • Align with Organizational Training and Awareness team to ensure all technical training meets enterprise standards.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical writing field or technical engineering supporting role with knowledge of Office365.
  • Bachelors degree in Science, Business or related disciplines or equivalent work experience.
  • Understanding of 508-compliance remediation.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Visio) including template creation and application; familiarity with XML topic based technical writing via DITA.
  • Working knowledge of DITA/XML authoring tools, RoboHelp, MadCap Flare, FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • Must be able to create strong policy documentation and network topology diagrams.
  • Experience and understanding of information management/information architecture fundamentals such as version control, content management, single sourcing and metadata.
  • Experience in an agile environment and rapid deadlines.
  • Proven work experience as Communication Specialist or similar role.
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans.
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control.
  • Work and assist in creating, editing, and reviewing comprehensive technical documents such as user guides, online help, in-app documents and technical specifications, and network diagrams.
  • Sets up online folders for writers in the corporate SharePoint library, develops initial outlines, and provides appropriate library material.
  • Participates in outline Alpha & Beta testing with engineers, project manager(s), Microsoft solution providers and other team members.
  • Develop and brief corporate management utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio, Project.
  • Familiar with collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, and OneNote.
  • Creates document templates and formatting standards.
  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible for a Public Trust Security clearance.
