Trucking Dispatcher

Chestnut Enterprises, located in Wilmington, NC, provides intermodal solutions including trucking, the maintenance and repair of chassis and containers, warehousing and container depot operations. We are a family owned and operated company that has been in business since 1943.

Due to our growth and expanded services, we have an immediate need for a Trucking Dispatcher. This is an opportunity for stable employment with room for advancement. A positive attitude is a must for this position. Candidates must be flexible and possess strong organizational skills to handle frequent interruptions. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

Develop relationship with both the customer and the drivers

Communicate with the customer to receive Delivery Orders and Pick up orders

Properly assign loads based on criteria and Driver qualifications

Distribute all necessary documents to drivers

Timely communication with Drivers to convey information to the customer as required

Enter load information into system

Scan documents

Preferred Qualifications:

Trucking Industry Experience

Prior Dispatching Experience

Prior Supervisory Experience
