Job Summary

This hands-on Voice Engineer position will serve as part of the Compass Group North America M&A team, providing oversight, coordination, and delivering the activities supporting successful integration of voice platforms into the Compass Group voice platform. The Voice Engineer position is responsible for the ongoing configuration and support of the organization's VoIP infrastructure of the corporate campus and sector offices. This individual will be responsible with deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise level VoIP, video and UCS platforms in both on premise or hosted configurations.

The Voice Engineer works as a member of the Network Services team and is charged to understand the goals/objectives of that team and how it supports those of the I&O division.

Job Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Voice and UCS Management and Support
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unified Contact Center, Unity Connection and all other collaboration technologies.
  • Responsible for the operational stability of our voice, video and UCS platforms to achieve targeted uptime and reliability.
  • Supervise, analyze and shape LAN, WAN and wireless traffic to ensure voice and video equipment are operating at peak efficiency.
  • Perform backups of all voice systems/platforms and review regularly to ensure configuration and devices are being backed up at the interval defined.
  • Perform backup and restore testing/validation weekly/monthly/quarterly.
  • Provide tier 1 and tier 2 support for enterprise voice and network equipment related to any technology owned and supported by the Network Services group.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or combination of education and experience.
  • Cisco or equivalent voice / collaboration certification (CCNA Collaboration, CCNP Collaboration) highly preferred.
  • Typically, 2-5 years experience
  • Experience administering and supporting Cisco Voice platforms including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), Unity, Cisco Emergency Responder (CER) and Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE).
  • UCCX scripting and ACD/IVR administration
  • UCCX Finesse
  • Enterprise experience with video and collaboration technologies (Jabber, WebEx, Teams)
  • VoIP protocols such as SIP, MGoogle Cloud Platform, SCCP, H.323, RTP/SRTP
  • Foundational routing and switching knowledge with an emphasis on collaboration and voice solutions
  • Network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds.
  • Familiarly with cloud and hybrid cloud networks.
