Job Description

Oversee the development and implementation of assigned program activities that promote safe, affordable and fair housing. Act as liaison to develop partnerships which enhance program capacity.

1.Ensure program and financial compliance with funding and agency requirements.

2.Performs quality check of customer data to assure accuracy and completeness. Addresses necessary corrective actions.

3.Monitor client management systems for accuracy and prepare and review reports for submission to funding source and corporate office.

4.Work with supervisor to develop program plans, budgets and goals. Assist with proposal writing as appropriate.

5.Actively develop and foster local, regional and state-level relationships and partnerships to help achieve planned goals and outcomes.

6.Where applicable, assist in obtaining property for use in Housing program. Coordinate leasing, renovation, construction and repair projects. Obtain competitive bids for such projects and negotiate contracts in accordance with agency policy. Monitor these projects through completion.

7.Promote customer satisfaction. Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.

8.Active participation in staff meetings and conference calls.

9.Provide housing counseling services to customers (where applicable).

10.Where applicable, comply with National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling.

11.Advances skills through ongoing professional development.

12.Serve on relevant community advisory committees and boards.

This position directly supervises others. This may include participation in the recruitment/selection process for new hires, employee training, onboarding, conducting performance coaching/evaluation, compensation administration, delegation of duties and conflict resolution. Promotes an environment of teamwork and cooperation and is accessible to employees.

Directly supervise 2-6 staff.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, social science or related field or five years’ experience in housing related services.

Certification through NeighborWorks within six months to include HO250 and HO109 or HO109EL (equivalent through NCLR or NCRC will be considered). (where applicable)

Certification through NeighborWorks within one year for foreclosure intervention and default counseling to include HO345rq and HO307 or HO320 (equivalent through NCLR or NCRC will be considered) (where applicable).

SPDAT & HMIS Certification within 90 days of hire. (where applicable)

Additional certifications may be required depending on service area.

Two years management and supervisory experience with a community based organization is preferred.

Bilingual may be required.

Skills and Abilities:

Microsoft Office products and on-line client management systems

Problem-solving, arithmetic calculations,

Public speaking and ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner, both orally and in writing

Ability to de-escalate and handle high stress situations

Additional Information

Occasional lifting (10-20 lbs)

Keyboarding and data entry, use of telephone

Office and classroom setting - sitting and standing.

Overnight travel (approximately 5 times/year for 3-5 days)

Occasional significant workplace pressure.

Where applicable, conduct home visits to customer residences, exposure to potentially unsafe environments, climb stairs, kneeling.

Must be available outside of working hours to provide emergency intervention (where applicable)
