Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, evaluate, implement, and improve manufacturing methods. Maintain related prints and documentation. Lead and participate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts and problem solving. Evaluates suggestions. Project management, milestone reporting and value analysis are key components.

  • Provide detailed die specifications for equipment purchases and acceptance.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Specify, install, debug and train personnel on new equipment and processes to enhance the assembly of Larson product.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Involved in specifying and installation of equipment to enhance the assembly of Larson products.
  • May require travel to other Larson facilities.
  • Must abide by all Larson policies.

Must be courteous and maintain a good working relationship with supervisors and co-workers.

Qualifications

  • BSME, BSIE minimum or equivalent work experiences.
  • 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
