This position is eligible for a $3,000 incentive!ResponsibilitiesCHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson is seeking a Patient Care Tech to work in our Emergency department. The Patient Care Technician facilitates the communication process between health professionals in relation to patient care and provides general clerical and clinical support to the unit. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of Catholic Health Initiatives and CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson Medical Center.Key Job ResponsibilitiesDelivers direct patient care as delegated including but not limited to oral cares, bathing, transferring, repositioning, feeding, and providing direct supervision for patients requiring it

Communicates and works cooperatively with nursing staff by reporting observations, serving as a liaison between patient and nurse, and updating other staff members through shift report

Measures and documents accurately and at the time of occurrence vital signs, input and output, weights, procedures, personal care, activities of daily living, specimens as directed, observations, dietary intake, and ambulation

Assumes routine coordination of clerical activities under the direction of department leadership and nurses on duty, including answering and routing phone calls, stocking supplies, communicating new orders and test results to pertinent staff, and locating charts and forms as requested

Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality

Completes other duties within scope as assigned

May also be trained in phlebotomy, electrocardiographs, and telemetry

QualificationsMust have active North Dakota certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Emergency Medicine Technician.

BLS within 30 days of hire

Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

Other required skills include time management, managing changing tasks and priorities; excellent customer/patient service; and proficient computer skills.
