Job Description

In this role you will perform payroll practitioner duties including payroll processing for LARSON (gross-to-net), balancing payroll totals, gathering payroll approvals, generating and submitting payroll interface files. You will also audit employee HR & payroll data changes ensuring all changes are properly approved, valid and entered timely & accurately.

YOUR ROLE

  • Data entry of new hires, rehires, associate personal and job data changes.
  • Processing bi-weekly payrolls, in accordance with company guidelines and SOX compliance, in a very timely and accurate manner - including the processing of adjustments & special pay requests, ensuring proper approvals on payroll and sending direct deposit file to the bank by required deadlines.
  • Balancing payroll earnings, deductions and tax totals using excel and or other tools/reports to ensure payroll is accurate
  • Processing of payroll & benefit data interface files (exports and imports) including reconciling totals, resolving data/transmission issues, coordinating/communicating with internal and external parties by sending reports or worksheets as needed
  • Verifying, approving & auditing employee data changes through workflows and/or audit reports ensuring all changes are properly approved, valid, entered timely, accurately, and in compliance with company polices and federal/state/local regulations (such as new hires, terminations, pay rate/job changes, address changes, tax changes, deduction changes, direct deposit changes, etc.) As well as, updating employee’s tax record as needed for address changes
  • Validating & processing of multi-state employee wage garnishments, tax levies, child support orders and interrogatories in a timely and confidential manner
  • Reviewing time records for our non-exempt workforce, including verifying data accuracy and approvals, looking for missed items and issues
  • Processing supplemental payrolls as needed for special payments such as gainshare, annual incentives, gift cards, stock options, RSU/PSA, etc.
  • Assisting with payroll tax processing including period tax files, quarter files, year-end adjustments and W-2s

· Maintaining & enhancing payroll and system expertise by attending training, reviewing updates and staying current with payroll and payroll tax changes

  • Providing great customer service to our associates by answering pay-related questions

· Maintaining user guides & training materials for timekeeping and payroll processes

· Other duties as may be assigned at management’s discretion

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years payroll processing, time & attendance, payroll taxes and/or HRIS experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience
  • Strong attention to detail, discretion, and sense of urgency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Systems or related field
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Kronos, UKG Pro and Cognos Business Intelligence
  • Organized. Can handle multiple projects with tight timelines
  • Curious problem solver who is dedicated to continuous improvement
  • PeopleSoft and Kronos
