Role Purpose

Conduct biology and trait research activities in greenhouses, growth chambers, and laboratories

Initiate protocol development to optimize operational efficiency associated with plant care and seed production

Deliver project milestones using science based approaches

Work 40 hours per week during weekdays and weekend

Perform all activities in accordance with Syngenta Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy 

AccountabilitiesPerform activities for corn trials including planting, watering, tissue sampling, pollination, harvesting, and seed processingImplement trial protocols and communicate with project teams regarding status of trialsDesign, test and implement innovative ideas and concepts to optimize plant growth and developmentMake observations and record data in databases and other record keeping toolsStay current on developments in greenhouse technology through literature, seminars, and workshopsScout and apply pesticides and biologicals to control diseases and pestsWilling to obtain a NCDA pesticide applicator licenseAble and willing to work during weekends and holidays
