Title: PV&V Electrification Test Engineer

Description: PV&V Electrification Test Engineer Plans, coordinates, performs product design, testing and/or analysis work for a complete project of moderate scope or for a significant portion or a sub-system of a major and diverse project. Operates in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to support personnel. Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors. Duties: Executes high level applications to more complex problems. Analyzes assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for complex problems or projects of moderate scope. Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications. This may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel. Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel. Provides technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality and supply management organizations. Develops and/or executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation. Applies knowledge of company products, policies and practices to provide economies through standardization of parts and products.

Specific Position Requirements

Duties: 1. Gather and format test requirements from internal and external customers with assistance from others. Review and provide proper feedback about the requirements.2. Perform and oversee, with assistance, the performance of power electronic Product Verification and Validation testing performed internally or externally.3. Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of testing results and schedule progress. Communicate results and schedule progress to internal and external customers.4. Employ troubleshooting and debugging strategies; determine root cause with support from others and provide support in troubleshooting.5. Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.6. Work closely with other project team members as needed to ensure the testing is performed as specified in the product specifications.7. Travel as needed to accomplish the tasks required of this position, including meeting with customers to generate and/or revise concepts and product requirements. (Travel could be 1 or 2 times a year and would always be in the USA. No international travel. )8. Support other needs of the department as needed.

Education:

Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Ag Engineering, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited engineering program or equivalent.

Skills and Experience:

Required:

- Understanding of the basics of embedded controllers- Understanding of safe higher voltage practices- Understanding of motor control and system testing- Understanding of the basics of design validation- Good written and verbal communications skills (English)- Good organization skills (multi-tasking)- Good customer service skills Desired:

- Experience with product development- Understanding of motor control software (PU2)- Experience with dynos- Experience with development and debugging tools (e.g. oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.)- Experience with microcontroller peripherals and systems (e.g. PWM outputs, boot loaders, A/D converters, serial and parallel interfaces, etc.)- Experience with communication networks (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, RS-232/485, etc.)- Experience with communication protocols (e.g. J1939, ISO11783, TCP/IP, etc.) Mandatory skills:
