Senior Traffic Engineer

The Traffic/ITS Department is actively seeking a creative, self-driven, highly talented Senior Traffic Engineer for employment in the Raleigh, NC office.  This position is responsible for developing and maintaining traffic forecasting standards and preparing forecasts for highway projects. This role involves managing complex travel demand forecasts, overseeing professional engineering firms, and ensuring compliance with engineering principles and standards.If you are a successful applicant, you can look forward to joining a large, dynamic, and highly technical team of engineers and analysts who are driven to provide exceptional work to our clients. Activities include, but are not limited to: Develop and maintain administrative and technical standards for traffic forecasting.Prepare traffic forecasts for highway projects in the State Transportation Improvement Program.Produce complex travel demand forecasts including data selection and analysis.Estimate current and forecast future traffic volumes.Prepare technical reports detailing the forecasting processes and decisions.Determine and prepare scopes of work for traffic forecasts.Monitor progress of work and perform quality control checks.Effectively manage assigned projects/tasks and be in responsible charge of task activities and schedule.Develop new business by fostering existing and new client relationshipsPeriodic travel required within North Carolina.Perform other duties as assigned.
