Build large distributed components that run Meta.

Scale data storage, synchronize and coordinate large server clusters, and provide a runtime environment for front-end Meta code.

Design core back-end software components.

Code using primarily C, C, Java, PHP, and Hack.

Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa.

Conduct design and code reviews.

Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.

Establish self as an owner of a particular component, feature, or system with expert end-to-end understanding.

Successfully complete projects at large scope while maintaining a consistent high level of productivity.

Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the U.S.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Position requires 36 months of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Experience must include 36 months of experience in each of following:

Coding in one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C, C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript

Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)

Linux, UNIX, or other nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands

Building highly-scalable performant solutions

Building large-scale infrastructure applications

Algorithms

Data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction

Designing and completing medium to large features independently without guidance

Experience owning a particular component, feature or system

Design scalable distributed systems with established partition tolerance, consistent, and availability guarantees.
