Job Summary:
The SRE team is a blend of pragmatic operators and software craftspeople that apply sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to our environments. We specialize in systems covering operating systems, storage, networking, VMware, databases, monitoring, and performance.
The Systems Monitoring Manager is responsible for the Monitoring Strategy for all Intelerad systems and applications. The Manager will plan, evaluate, develop, customize, install, and implement the Monitoring Strategy in accordance with Customer requirements. Work in partnership with the internal and external stakeholders to collect the appropriate data and provide dashboards to visualize SLIs, SLOs, state of the application or infrastructure.
The Systems Monitoring Manager is also responsible for managing the overall growth and performance of the Systems Monitoring team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Enable the work of the Systems Monitoring Engineers and create a group of highly collaborative individuals
Lead, develop, and coach the Systems Monitoring Engineers and manage performance according to the organization’s values and goals.
Define and measure Performance, Efficiency, and Quality metrics for the team (SLOs)
Develop the DevOps culture within the Site Reliability Engineering department
Duties/Responsibilities:
Product Management:
Maintain familiarity with the technology, users, system interfaces, and standards that are relevant to your product group, and ensure that your team is informed of these details
Work with Product Management to develop a vision for the product
Collaborate with the R&D, Support and SRE teams to create and maintain requirements for the Monitoring Strategy
Project Management:
Collaborate with project managers to achieve optimal outcomes for your team, balancing functionality, budget, and quality
Provide stakeholders with proposalsand risk mitigation in the face of challenges to facilitate decision making
Ensure that Intelerad’s Software Development processes are being followed, and collaborate with your peers to improve them.
Participate and lead the plan, analysis, design, development, implement, and roadmap of the Monitoring Strategy
Software Development:
Work with your team to ensure that product requirement is adequately defined and satisfied
Stay current with technology and methods for software development that may be of value to Intelerad
Participate in the analysis, design, development, documentation, and maintenance of our products
Recommend software, systems, and coordinate development to meet business requirements
Maintains awareness of technology trends in the area of monitoring and makes recommendations
Qualifications
Required Experience/Skills:
University or college education in science, technology, engineering, or equivalent industry experience
5+ years’ experience in monitoring focused engineering roles
Leadership or Management experience
Experience implementing a monitoring solution using an application like, Prometheus/Grafana, DataDog, New Relic, or equivalent
Strong sense of ownership and dedication to results
Stimulates the group to higher performance standards
Humble leader that believes that his/her success comes from the success of their team
Ability to organize people and resources towards the effective and efficient pursuit of objectives
A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas of improvement, and bottlenecks
Ability to adapt to working with a wide array of technologies and languages
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate technical subjects to a broad range of stakeholders
Knowledge of systems design, performance tuning, DevOps, and site-reliability engineering
Knowledge of high-level languages, such as Python, Go, Java, C/C
Desired Experience/Skills:
5+ years’ experience in a leadership role
3+ years working with Enterprise Imaging Systems
3+ years working in a DevOps environment
Experience working in an SRE environment
Knowledge of VMware Enterprise, Windows Server, Linux
Knowledge of Databases
Knowledge of Automation and Monitoring technologies and principles
Experience with networking, firewall configuration, and troubleshooting
Strong understanding of medical imaging, radiology workflow, and integration using industry concepts:
PACS
RIS
DICOM
HL7 and interface engines
HIPAA/HITECH
IHE profiles
EMR/EHR
3rd party vendor integrations
regulatory, and security requirements
