Job Description

As a Wharf Services Manager you will be leading our site with full ownership and responsibility for the running, management and implementation of required operational daily tasks of the business.

Your focus will be around safety, service, financials, people management & continuous improvement whilst developing strategies to increase profitability and business efficiency while maintaining a strong customer focus.

Core duties will include –

  • Develop, implement and report performance measurement criteria (Key Performance Indicators) for the transport, warehousing and yard areas of the business.
  • Measure, review and improve service levels across all facets of the business.
  • Ensure that business performance complies with Company, Senior Management and Customer directives, policies and statutory regulations at all times.
  • Improve the profitability of the Business Unit by controlling day to day operating costs, maximising revenue and development of improved efficiencies.
  • Review results against initial budgets, and devise strategies to improve performance.

Qualifications

We require someone with strong operational/management experience and transport/logistics/warehouse background.

Additional Information

You will also be required to -

  • Strong leadership capabilities and able to providedirection to your team in all aspects of performance
  • Clearly articulate operational performance underpinned with KPI’s with financial results
  • Remain calm and diligent when faced with challenging situations
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Intermediate experience with word, excel & Outlook
