About the Opportunity

Our National IT organization has an immediate opening for a Senior Accessibility Specialist / Advisor, reporting to the Senior User Experience Manager.

As the Senior Accessibility Specialist / Advisor, you will use your passion to identify opportunities that will positively change how people who use assistive technology interact with enterprise applications and be an advocate, coach, and problem solver focused on delivering and improving the accessibility needs of our FRS (Federal Reserve System) workforce.

What You Will Do:
  • Promote accessibility best practices throughout the organization by documenting standards and developing awareness and training programs.
  • Build a network and develop partnerships with advocates throughout National IT.
  • Identify accessibly needs and gaps with product teams and advise on improvement options and prioritization.
  • Create and track metrics (e.g., OKRs) to drive increased focus on solutions that address a variety of disabilities.
  • Define and support the integration of testing process and tools for product development teams.
  • Understand and inform accessibility roadmaps and advancements for enterprise (often third-party) solutions.
  • Direct internal and external resources responsible for audits, testing, training, etc.
  • Coordinate with procurement and business leadership to incorporate accessibility requirements into contracts and due diligence activities with vendors.

Qualifications:
  • Preferred experience leading accessibility initiatives with enterprise, third-party solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG).
  • Experience working with a variety of assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, Wave)
  • Expertise in coaching multiple product teams on digital accessibility technologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Senior: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/Master's Degree may be preferred with 6 to 9+ years of relevant work experience in human computer interaction, instructional design, product management, or related area with significant emphasis on accessibility delivery.
  • Advanced: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/Master's Degree may be preferred with 10+ years of relevant work experience in human computer interaction, instructional design, product management, or related area with significant emphasis on accessibility delivery.
