Overview

Credence Management Solutions, LLC (Credence) is seeking an Aircraft Airworthiness/Risk Management Engineer to support the Light Attack Aircraft office at WPAFB.

Responsibilities

  • Track all sections of MIL-HDBK-516 from start of contract to final AW certification and supports the program Airworthiness efforts.
  • Participate in and assist in the planning of systems engineering risk assessments by establishing a risk management review, coordinating action item status, and updating risk management metrics.
  • Support the program Airworthiness effort by supporting, developing and maintaining a comprehensive airworthiness criteria certification (tailored airworthiness certification criteria and/or modification airworthiness certification criteria) compliance package, and preparing an airworthiness risk assessment.
  • Support the planning and execution of the Airworthiness Review Board meeting in support of obtaining military flight releases/military type certificates.
  • Produce draft documentation as requested or necessitated by programmatic limits based on cost, schedule and performance to support the airworthiness process.
  • Apply the principles, criteria, and procedures of DoDD 5000.1 and DoDI 5000.2R as well as the policies and processes of HQ AFMC and AFLCMC Engineering Directorates to all AFLCMC acquisition engineering tasks. Acquisition engineering tasks and products include but are not limited to:
    • Risk assessment and management to include but not limited to risk management plans, processes, meetings, software, and mishap investigation;
    • Application of systems engineering/management techniques and analysis;
    • Airworthiness engineering assessment and management including but not limited to airworthiness plans, documentation, engineering analysis and assessments for all phases of acquisition from requirement generation through test, fielding and sustainment phases;
    • Assistance in translating DoD requirements into system engineering requirements in the above applicable areas, and;
    • Effective communication of recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management.
  • Advise and provide technical recommendations on technical issues across the program as required in areas including OSS&E, risk management, airworthiness, safety of flight, mishap events/activities, and other focus areas as directed.
  • Interface as required with AF personnel, associate Contractors, and other AF / Government agencies, participate in reviews and other meetings as required by the Government, and prepare presentation material as required.
  • Evaluate of weapon system contractor proposals of risk assessment and airworthiness-related material.
  • Perform other airworthiness/risk engineering activities as required

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree (ABET accredited) with 4 or more years of experience.
  • Must have a secret security clearance
  • Must have experience with technical analysis of weapon system contractor proposals for various systems.
  • Must have knowledge of military hardware and software development including avionics, weapons, flight systems, propulsion, and air vehicle systems and its impact on aircraft integration.
