Seeking ArcGIS Specialist that will help the Division of Geological Survey with their ArcGIS (ArcPro and ArcMap) desktop software (including model builder) needs. Consultant will produce; maps, create and maintain SQL Server databases, create and maintain metadata, assist with developing and guiding staff. - 5 years - Creating/maintaining Microsoft SQL Server database version 2012-2016
- 5 years - ArcGIS Online experience
- 5 years - ArcGIS (ArcPro and ArcMap) desktop software (including model builder)
- 2 years - Python (ArcPy)
- 5 years’ experience with ESRI tools
- Create and revise SQL Server databases and database schemas. (e.g., standard schema implementation, database migration, digitization of Division artifacts)
- The position will be writing code and creating models with GIS to do geoprocessing tasks.
- Represent Geo Survey in IT related procurements. Has enough familiarity with Geo Survey data and projects to facilitate procurements.
- Assist with developing and guiding staff with complex geoprocessing techniques to save time or leverage data in new ways (e.g., Revise statewide mapping projects)
- Complete geology specific GIS/technology training to develop expertise.
- Create and manage metadata and coordinate with Geologic Records Center group to intelligently archive data and package it for delivery.
- Create Supplementary map or figure as needed.
- Operates GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS desktop software) to assist in viewing, assessing and editing data sets for Geo Survey.
- Assists Geo Survey staff with data entry & data preparation; ensures GIS compliance with applicable standards for data capture, metadata, data manipulations & output; integrates historical maps with other spatial information; assists with quality assurance & quality control procedures integrated with the production & maintenance of GIS data; works on special Geo Survey project assignments as directed by manager.
