Position Summary

In this role, you will test the functionality and performance of software systems and ensure the software meets business requirements. You will also develop and run automated test cases, communicate test results and anomalies to management in a well-documented, concise, and timely manner.

Essential Accountabilities
  • Translate existing manual test cases or scripts into automated tests through the review of test plans, business requirements, functional requirements and technical specifications using flow diagrams or other methods to clarify requirements.
  • Help to ensure test plan properly align with business requirements by participating in software design and review sessions.
  • Develop configurable, maintainable, reusable, and dependable test automation components.
  • Execute test plans, records, and reports results, assists with analyzing test results, and provide root-cause analysis for problems encountered during testing.
  • Prepare and acquire test data, conduct peer reviews of test work products.
  • Participate in special projects, as requested.
  • Assist with setup and maintenance of test environments; development of test case automation criteria; and setup and check out of test environments, prepare architecture diagrams.
  • Support manual testers with automation needs and is responsible in determining which manual test cases need to be converted to automation scripts. Including executing manual test cases as needed and to gain knowledge of the application functionality.
  • Identify technical and operational problems on installed systems, products, and/or services.
  • Prepare for and takes part in testing activities for production deployments and remediation.
  • May conduct manual testing as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Education and Education
  • Automation Test Engineer: Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of related work experience or associate degree and/or software testing certificate and 5+ years of related work experience
  • Sr. Automation Test Engineer: Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related work experience or associate degree and/or software testing certificate with 7+ years of related work experience

Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience with Selenium Automation Framework, experience with multiple automation programming languages, understanding of HTML, and multiple quality assurance testing tools (required)
  • Quality Assurance Engineer methodologies and practices
  • Software development Life Cycle and the importance of the QA function within the framework
  • Computer hardware and software, operating systems, browsers, Internet navigation, and downloading/installing software i.e., SQL, Oracle, business objects, web technologies, authentication or security technologies
  • Knowledge of multiple software development methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative, Agile and Behavior driven development.
  • Working knowledge of test case management and execution using test management tools.
  • Experience implementing and auditing automated test methodology and QA standards
  • Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

Physical Demands/General Working Conditions

Position is a Hybrid work arrangement. Individuals may be required to work some days in the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland while working the other days from home.

Employees typically sit most of the day, work with a computer and may answer/respond to phone calls. Physical movement consists of walking for meetings, breaks, etc.

Ability to lift items weighing approximately 20 pounds on a limited basis is required. Employees may be required to travel by car/air.
