Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:Develops a curriculum that promotes trauma-informed competencies and provides training to staff, stakeholders, and community members that will allow individuals to make a difference in their local communities. Leads educational groups and training opportunities with expertise on empowerment, resiliency, unconscious cultural bias, trauma awareness, or other related topics. Partners with external collaboratives and agencies to foster a shared commitment to improve health for all Cuyahoga County, specifically vulnerable populations. Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or another related field of study from an accredited institution or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience facilitating and organizing group therapy sessions.

Ability to engage with community stakeholders.

Ability to creatively identify and access local resources to assist patients in recovery.

Understanding of the social determinants of health and place-based community health strategies

Understanding of Trauma-Informed Principles, Systems, and Approaches

Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficient and accurate documentation and data collection skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Strong ability multi-task and work independently and as a member of a team.

Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Preferred:

Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Health Education, or another related field of study from an accredited institution or related degree.

Currently licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or related licensure.

Experience in the development and administration of programs for community-based initiatives.

Ability to communicate clearly, including confidently delivering effective presentations in public settings.

Bi-lingual language capabilities.

Understanding of Trauma-Informed Principles, Systems, and ApproachesPhysical Requirements:

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.

May need to sit or stand for extended periods.

See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required.

May need to lift to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.

Ability to communicate in face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications.

Ability to see computer monitor and departmental document
