Job Title: Financial Analyst, Compliance

Direct Hire / Permanent

Location: Columbus, Ohio. Hybrid on-site required

Summary:The Financial Analyst, Compliance is responsible for overseeing and managing the post-award activities for grants, including federal, state, and local funded programs for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. This role collaborates across multiple cross-functional partners to ensure our compliance with grants and other funding sources.The position is expected to perform detailed and complex ad hoc analysis on a regular basis, assist in special projects, and maintain and close out grants. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, have a proven finance background, excellent interpersonal and analytical capabilities, and strong financial modeling skills. This position reports to the Manager, Finance.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides fiscal management, oversight, and extensive support of grants through reimbursements, financial reporting, and closeouts.
  • Cooperates and coordinates with regulatory or external auditors.
  • Monitors expenditures and reporting requirements to ensure that all required documents are submitted to granting agencies in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Monitors budgets to ensure the grant/contract is spent in accordance with the agency approved budget.
  • Collaborates and develops forecasts for cash funding sources to aid sponsors in developing and preparing accurate budgets for capital projects; participates in annual feasibility preparation with external Financial Advisor.
  • Liaison between sponsoring agency and department/division administrators.
  • Interprets, applies, and ensures compliance with complex rules, regulations, policies, including the Uniform Grant Guidance (UGG).
  • Prepares the Schedule of Federal Expenditure Awards (SEFA) and support schedules and notes; serve as the point person for the SEFA audit.
  • Performs financial recording of fixed assets and land transactions, including budgeting, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Develops operating budget figures for grants, including federal, state, and local funded programs
  • Prepares journal entries, reviews transactions for accurate coding, and prepares account reconciliations and internal/external financial reports.
  • Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Performs related work as required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Project Accounting/Management, or related degree.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in accounting or finance related field
  • Or equivalent education and years of experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to build partnerships across functions
  • Proficient in MS Office and financial systems
