Job Description:

We are hiring an experienced Computer Operator to work for us. You will:

Work for our client at its New Albany, OH data center in a potential contract-to-hire position.

Work three 12-hour workdays per week for a total of 36 hours, with potential for overtime.

Work in a rotating shift: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for two weeks; then Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for two weeks until 8-26-24, at which time the rotation moves to beginning of the week. Details will be discussed during the interview.

Operate and monitor the client’s infrastructure and data center environments.

Ensure timely completion of all scheduled batch cycles and processes workload during the shift and support the workflow of computer operations.

Contribute to positive customer support experience and build rapport and trust with business partners and application teams.

Monitor application processing, networking, and all Data Center hardware and software, taking appropriate actions according to defined procedures as issues arise

Document shift activities and incidents according to defined procedures.

Conduct walkthroughs of the Data Center to verify there are no physical issues.

Respond to calls and inquiries to facilitate the timely resolution of incidents and completion of requests for service.

Work with senior and lead operations staff to perform daily approved changes according to defined technical standards as instructed.

Control physical access to the facility and monitor the physical state of all aspects of the Data Center.

Work with staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues as needed.

Heavy lifting is not required.

Required Skills and Experience:

5 years experience as an operator in a data center environment.

Knowledge of service management software, including ServiceNow.

Knowledge of workflow automation software, including Control-M.

Knowledge of monitoring software, including SolarWinds.

Experience with both mainframe and distributed systems operations.

Able to work three days per week, 12 hours per day, for 36 hours total, with some overtime possible.

Able to work the following rotation: W, Th, F for two weeks, then Th, F, Saturday for two weeks – until 8-26-24. At that time, must be able to work rotation that starts at the beginning of the week.
