Description:Seeking an Entry Level Construction Materials Inspector to support construction materials testing on a large projects around Central Ohio. The Inspector is responsible for performing various tests and inspections on building materials such as concrete, soil, aggregates, and more to ensure they meet project specifications and codes. These activities will be performed in the field on a large construction site. The responsibilities of this role can be trained and do not require prior materials testing experience, but candidates with experience or certifications will be considered. MUST be comfortable working long hours on a construction site in various weather conditions. A good opportunity to learn new skills and get consistent hours year-round. Responsibilities: -Performs a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.-Operates testing equipment and conducts testing, (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reporting-Works utilizing drawings, specifications and diagrams-Uses specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks-Make detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results-Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results-Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results-Communicates effectively with client and project teams-Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at workSkills:ACI Certification, Construction Materials Testing, Concrete Testing, Coil Testing, Construction, Concrete inspection, Additional Skills & Qualifications:-High School diploma required -Construction or related experience strongly preferred -Construction materials testing experience a plus but not required-ACI or other certifications a plus -Ability to work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions-Ability to work early mornings, long hours, variable schedule -Drivers license and ability to travel locally-Hard worker and initiative to learn new skillsDiversity, Equity & Inclusion At Actalent, diversity and inclusion are a bridge towards the equity and success of our people.
