Description We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team operating within the manufacturing industry, based in Beachwood, Ohio. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. As a Data Engineer, you will be tasked with the development and maintenance of databases, ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud technologies, and the implementation of algorithms. Responsibilities: Design, construct, install, test and maintain data management systems Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data Develop data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production Employ a variety of languages and tools to marry systems together Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality Collaborate with data architects, modelers, and IT team members on project goals Use Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and other AWS technologies for data extraction and handling Work with Qlik, Qlik Sense, QlikView, and Talend for data visualization and ETL processes. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a Data Engineer role within the manufacturing industry Proficient in Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and Cloud Technologies Solid understanding and experience with databases Knowledge of EO/IR systems and Algorithm Implementation Experience with analytics and Apache Hadoop Proven track record in API Development and AWS Technologies Familiarity with Qlik Sense, QlikView, and Qlik Proficiency in MySQL and MySQL Database Experience with Talend is a plus Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
