Description Robert Half is partnering with a company to find a Database Administrator. If you are a skilled problem solver and have highly tuned decision-making abilities, apply today. The permanent Database Administrator position will be in Mentor, Ohio.What you get to do every single day
Advise on database design, tuning options, and other potential issues
Maintain all database instances across development, staging, and production environments, handling installations and configurations as needed
Determine the best way to improve performance, whether through hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
Reduce false alarms to a minimum by configuring database monitoring utilities
Fix database service outages when they happen, which can include after hours and weekends
Ensure the design and execution of database server topology, configuration, and maintenance meet SLA objectives
Establish the baseline for system performance and detect deviation, suggesting and executing improvements to slow running queries Requirements - Familiarity with relational database management systems
Solid understanding of Microsoft Access
Enterprise resource planning experience preferred
SQL Server experience required
VB experience highly desired
Deep understanding of report generation
Relevant background in building and maintaining documentation
3+ years of database experience
Skilled at making improvements to query performance
Storage and server hardware experience a plus
