Bring your years of experience as a Design Engineer in the automotive, aerospace and/or drivetrain industry to contribute to this successful team. You will be part of a highly selective group of technicians in charge of protecting this global automotive company’s legacy of world-class reliability. You will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating activities relating to assigned products and systems and conduct analysis that are pinnacle for the success of the project.
Responsibilities:- Research, plan, and design parts and systems within area of specialty.
- Conduct design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, and part specification.
- Schedule and coordinate activities involved in prototyping, fabricating, and manufacturing of assigned products and systems.
- Designs, develops, and analyzes components, parts, and systems in area of specialty per established quality, cost and performance standards.
- Adhere to regulatory and development schedule guidelines.
- Implementing design ideas and features by preparing, refining, and issuing complex 2D and 3D drawings and layouts.
- Conduct calculations and analysis.
- Conduct strength calculations, material selection, part construction, and part specification.
- Confirm prototype part compliance with drawing specifications, product limitations or changes in design trends.
- Analyze components and parts to ensure established layout, quality, cost, and performance standards and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded.
- Recommends cost-effective design modifications and improvements that support testing and mass production.
- Design Engineer with 5+ years of engineering experience in actual creation of required components per specialty (concept, specification setting and layout creation and negotiation capability).
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 6+ years of related experience may be substituted for required degree.
