Desktop Architect

Location: Independence, OH. (Onsite 2-3 days a week)

Duration: FULL-TIME

What we’re looking for:A highly motivated individual that is passionate about Microsoft Technology Solutions and have spent the last 5 to 10 years primarily focused on Desktop Architecture/Engineering and Modern Device Management solutions, including design, build, configure, migrate, document, and optimize.

What you will do
  • Work on strategic and tactical projects focusing on Microsoft technologies across industry verticals (e.g. healthcare, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, retail, state and local government, education, legal, etc.)
  • Perform Design and Planning projects including data gathering, workshops, creating project documents, and presenting findings and designs.
  • Perform Implementation and Deployment projects including design, build, testing, migration, transfer of knowledge, and support.
  • Perform Assessment projects for health check, security, virtualization, remediation, and optimization.
  • Develop rapport with customers and aspire to be their Trusted Advisor. For solutions in your area of subject matter expertise, you are their first call, before they implement anything new. Customers look to you for insight based on your wealth of experience and knowledge of best practices.
  • Continue to develop and mature your skills with Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, System Center and other complimentary cloud and on-premises technologies.
  • Attain certifications for personal development and partnership requirements.
  • Ensure solutions meet or exceed customer requirements for performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
  • Work with sales and pre-sales teams as a contributor and subject matter expert in project scoping.

  • PowerShell scripting, image engineering and task sequence development

  • Group Policy Management and Configuration Service Provider

  • General Infrastructure (Servers and Storage) experience to support solution implementations.

  • 3+ years of success in complex, technical projects, including design and planning, implementation, deployment, and support
  • Optional skills include:
  • System Center, specifically SCOM, but also SCVMM and SCDPM
  • Office/Microsoft 365 skills with the rest of the suite beyond Exchange Online, such as Skype for Business and Teams, optimally with VoIP integration
  • Experience designing and deploying Identity and Access Management solutions, such as FIM and MIM, along with other SSO and MFA solutions
  • Experience with third-party migration tools, such as Quest Migration Manager for AD and Exchange and Binary Tree
  • Experience with third-party workstation backup tools, such as Veeam, Druva, CrashPlan, etc.
  • Server and/or desktop Virtualization Solutions from VMware, to support solution implementations.
  • Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions
