Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Job description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through personalized care and support.

Duties:

-Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.

-Follow care plans tailored to individual needs, including medication administration as required.

-Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.

-Maintain a clean and organized living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.

-Support clients in community integration through outings and social events.

-Utilize proper techniques for lifting and transferring clients.

-Observe and document changes in client behavior or health status, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.

-Uphold HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

-Previous experience in caregiving, home health, or assisted living settings is preferred.

-Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

-Strong patient observation skills with the ability to monitor changes in health status effectively.

-Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members.

-Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient support.

-A compassionate approach towards providing direct support while fostering independence among clients.

-Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
