Director Financial Reporting

SUMMARY:        This position reports to the VP, Corporate Controller and Treasurer and will be responsible for supporting the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and assisting with special projects.  Applicant should possess strong problem solving, time management, and analytical skills. OBJECTIVES: Ensure timely reporting of financial results through key involvement in the close process, including consolidation, and preparation and review of internal and external financial statementsLead and develop a team of 1-2 accountantsDevelop, maintain, and ensure compliance with internal and GAAP policies and procedures DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES: Preparing and/or reviewing journal entries and account reconciliationsMaintain the general ledger system (chart of accounts and report writing)Analyze financial results, including balance sheet and income statement trendsContinuously monitor/maintain/improve existing accounting processes, including, but not limited to inventory, customer and vendor rebates, and intra-/inter-company accountingPrepare audit schedules and support external auditsAssist with Corporate Accounting special projects and process improvements KEY RELATIONSHIPS:Work as an integrated member of the VP, Corporate Controller and Treasurer’s team to meet collective departmental responsibilities and deadlinesCollaborate with FP&A and accounting management to deliver relevant and timely financial data analyticsWork with department heads to ensure understanding of reported results PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree or higher in an accounting-related fieldKnowledgeable in GAAP and technical accounting issues (CPA certification a plus)5+ years of successful, progressive career development in a corporate environmentOracle experience preferred
