This is a hands-on role in which the incumbent will be expected to be active and visible throughout the region to ensure the delivery of high quality human resources support for the business. Significant consulting and partnering with his/her assigned client group on all people and organization related matters is expected. Broad knowledge and experience in various human resource functions including: employee and labor relations, organizational development, benefits, compensation practices staffing and recruiting, training, talent management, diversity, and performance management is required. The key to this position is a strong business partner who can build alliances by gaining respect among field Managers and employees. The Region Director of Human Resources must be able to clearly demonstrate how human resource programs and practices contribute to the achievement of business results. Reporting to the Region Director of Human Resources is a team of Human Resource Managers, Generalists and administrative staff.REMOTE work from HOMECandidates applying Must live in: MA,NJ, NY, CT, PA, MIRequirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field is required.

A minimum of 10 (ten) years of human resource generalist experience in an organization with a similar workforce, i.e. large number of hourly union and non-union employees in geographically dispersed locations.

Approximately 50% travel will be required.

Human Resource experience in a unionized environment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

An advanced degree in a relevant field such as an MBA or Master’s in Human Resources is desirable.

The successful candidate will also be someone who has a demonstrated record of continuous professional growth and active involvement in relevant professional organizations to maintain a current knowledge of state of the art practices.

Demonstrated ability to provide practical, solution-driven initiatives and Human Resource processes that are perceived as quickly adding value to the business.

Credibility as a trusted advisor and confidant to senior operating executives.

Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and builds strong working relationships.

Demonstrated management skills in a human resources leadership position.

Responsibilities:Additional key responsibilities on a more specific basis will include:

Partner with the business team to drive practical solutions in the areas of employee relations, talent management, compensation, diversity, benefits, training and staffing.

Oversee all employee and labor relations to ensure an atmosphere of positive employee relations is maintained. Through coaching, counseling and training, improve the skill level of supervisors and managers in handling employee concerns, performance improvement actions and disciplinary actions.

Labor experience; labor relations, contract negotiations and campaigns, union organization and avoidance experience.

Work with the central staffing function to ensure adequate staffing levels throughout the region

Manage the performance management processes for the region.

Work with the region s operating managers to establish and drive diversity initiatives.

Facilitate communication to the field on all human resources items and coordinate the flow of information and feedback as appropriate.

Assure compliance with all Federal, State, and local employment and labor laws.

Create and support an environment that focuses on coaching and development.

Identify talent gap issues and work with Human Resource colleagues and business partners in addressing viable solutions.

This is a hands-on job where the incumbent is expected to be active and visible in the field organization.
