We are sourcing for one of the largest IT and business consulting services firms in the world. Operating in 32 countries. Listed as Forbes “America’s Best management consulting Firms” two years in a row (2020-2021). This is a remote, full-time position, with a salary range of $150k-$185k. 5%-10% Travel may be necessary. Our client is seeking a seasoned professional to join their Business Consulting practice supporting Retail & Consumer Services clients through end-to-end solution offerings and professional services. Their Retail & Consumer Services practice is growing nationally, and they are looking to increase our capabilities, thought leadership and industry perspective. We are seeking an experienced industry expert to interact with our other Retail and focused professionals globally to help expand and grow our footprint in the US Retail & consumer services sector. The Director of Retail & Consumer Services Strategy will be responsible for the US Retail & Consumer Services strategy, acting as a senior advisor and consulting lead. The successful candidate will be part of a cross-functional team that helps shape and bring innovative offerings and solutions to our retail clients globally. The successful candidate will bring a broad application, line-of-business and industry focus, and be responsible for guiding and communicating solutions and architectures that supports client business strategies and needs. The Director will share their expertise and insights with customer executive leaders around a range of key areas, including strategy, operations, data & analytics, product and channel, including the impacts of key strategies on their business. Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • 5+ years working with Retail & CPG clients
  • 7+ years as Business Consultant or similar role
  • Demonstrated director/senior leadership in consumer products & retail industry
  • Experience in one at least of following transformation areas: Omni-channel strategy and implementation, Retail operations transformation including store operations, costing/pricing and supply chain, analytics strategy and implementation. Customer experience strategy and implementation
  • Working knowledge of retail technologies including ERP/Retail Suites, POS, e-Commerce, Store Infrastructure
  • Demonstrated agility and flexibility to advise and work on multiple projects
  • Excellent written/oral communications skills
  • Strong bias for teaming with other subject matter experts, business and technical teams and leaders to drive results
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to build relationships quickly, understand stakeholder needs, and develop innovative solutions to address identified pain points
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with multiple segments Convenience, Grocery, and Apparel would be a plus

Your future duties and responsibilities: As Director, Retail & Consumer Services Strategy, you will help to grow the Retail pipeline, offerings and IP within a targeted portfolio of accounts and territory, manage Retail & CPG solutions and associated services, establish and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders, attend participate in Retail/CPG industry forums and work with the business leaders to help expand Retail & CPG services footprint. Summary of Duties:
  • Lead our clients US Retail & Consumer strategy development
  • Develop strong relationships with our clients’ business, organization and culture, becoming a trusted advisor
  • Support and lead the solution development for complex deals and implementations
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders to prioritize winning sales strategies
  • Work with cross functional teams of techno-functional personnel to propose the most likely to win approach
  • Coach existing business development and delivery teams as required in order to help them achieve their goals
  • Understand and articulate Client Problem statements and develop solutions that can span strategy, operations, brand management, customer experience
  • Identify and prioritize emerging technology and business trends to solve for clients’ existing business needs
  • Creation of thought leadership, including developing and sharing compelling points of view and perspectives focusing on industry segment trends
  • Develop white papers, blogs and speak at industry events in order to build industry mindshare
