Job PurposeThe Estimator's job is to develop accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $50K to $5M, including ground-up construction and tenant improvements, to support successful bidding and project execution. This position is based at our office in Medina, Ohio.ResponsibilitiesBid Preparation and Analysis:Review bid documents, including plans, specifications, and RFPs, to prepare accurate cost and labor estimates while identifying potential risks and opportunities.Subcontractor and Supplier Coordination:Determine bid packages, solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, and qualify proposals for completeness and scope accuracy.Scope Development and Documentation:Create detailed Scopes of Work and Basis of Estimate supplements, ensuring clear definitions of inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.Collaboration and Oversight:Work closely with Junior Estimators, Estimating Coordinators, and the Project Management team to support bid development, project hand-off, and buy-out processes.Process Improvement and Education:Maintain pre-construction standards and procedures while pursuing continuing education to enhance estimating skills and achieve relevant certifications.
