Job Title: Functional Safety Engineer Job Location: Cleveland, OH (Onsite from Day 1) Job Type: Fulltime/Contract with LTTS Job Description:
- Functional safety impact assessment, product verification and certification testing, and release to production
- Experience managing noise parameters and electrical isolation within a design (e.g., optimizing transmission line performance vs. solution size)
- Experience performing availability analysis of redundant elements (e.g., using software such as BlockSim)
- Experience simulating analog circuit performance and reliability (e.g., using software such as MathCad)
- Experience with fault tolerant design, redundant design, high availability design, or avionics design
- Experience developing fault tolerant architectural designs, safety concepts, and safety requirements specifications for electronic hardware products and systems that meet functional safety standards (IEC 61508) or meet requirements of process safety applications (IEC 61511, fault tolerant SIL3, high availability)
- Experience translating requirements from process safety / safety instrumented system applications to product requirement.
- Experience designing electrical circuits and printed circuit boards for hardware systems with expertise in analog design (e.g., DACs, ADCs, opamps, comparators, current and voltage sensing, active and passive filters)
- Experience with electronic hardware design tools such as schematic capture (Mentor Graphics or similar), PCB design, timing analysis, and signal integrity (HyperLynx or similar).
- Experience with creating UL compliant design (isolation / spacing), preventing and eliminating EMC/EMI issues.
- Experience in executing various tests during product development viz. DVT, Functional Tests, System Tests, Thermal and EMI/EMC testing.
- Experience in Conformance/Compliance testing for CE/UL/TUV
