Key Responsibilities1. Career Counseling and Support· Provide individualized career counseling to students, helping them explore career options, set goals, and create career pathways.· Provide employment services and support (including life skills, job readiness, and job search) to high school students, and make referrals of adults affiliated with the high school to OMJCFC Recruiters/Business Services team· Assess participant needs and competencies to create individualized education and employment goals· Assist students in developing resumes, completing job applications, and preparing for interviews.· Conduct assessments to identify skills, interests, and potential barriers to employment.2. Program Eligibility and Case Management· Link students eligible for more intensive career services with programs such as the Achieve More and Prosper program (AMP) or others under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Where applicable, determine students' eligibility and enroll them in relevant programs.· Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in the ARIES or similar systems in compliance with program requirements.· Develop and monitor Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) for students, setting goals for educational attainment, job placement, and skills development.· Provide ongoing case management, tracking student progress and making referrals to additional resources as needed.3. Job Placement and Employer Engagement· Cultivate relationships with local employers to identify job, internship, and pre-apprenticeship opportunities suitable for high school students.· Match students with work-based learning experiences, including internships, part-time jobs, job shadowing, and apprenticeships.· Organize and facilitate job matches, employer presentations, and career-related workshops.· Connect with OMJCFC Recruiters/Business Services Team when needed for additional services and support4. Educational and Career Planning· Collaborate with school counselors, career navigators, teachers, and administrators to align career services with students' academic goals, incorporate the Student Academic Contract.· Provide information and guidance on post-secondary education options, including community college, vocational training, and certificate programs.· Assist students in navigating financial aid and scholarship opportunities for post-secondary education.5. Workshops and Skill Development· Develop and conduct workshops on job readiness skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, workplace communication, and professional etiquette.· Develop and offer training sessions on soft skills and basic job competencies that employers value.· Organize presentations on career pathways in various industries, including high-demand sectors.6. Program Outreach and Coordination· Conduct outreach to recruit eligible students for community partners and other workforce development organizations to provide comprehensive services.· Maintain and update job center materials, including career resources, job postings, and training opportunities.7. Performance Tracking and Reporting· Track key performance metrics surrounding student job placements, credential attainment, and participation in work-based learning.· Prepare and submit regular reports on program performance, student outcomes, and compliance with WIOA requirements.· Develop and utilize a student participation agreement. Monitor student progress.· Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all personally identifiable information. Work with school to obtain parental/guardian permission as needed.
