Infrastructure Project Manager

Scope ManagementFacilitates detailed scope definition and planning for projects. Ensures the project includes all the work, and only the work, required to deliver the approved products, services, and/or results. Continually manages project efforts to align with approved scope and performs detailed change control process as needed.

Planning and Dependency ManagementEnsures that the various elements within a project are well-coordinated. Leverages PMO standards and tools to develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules after scrutinizing the quality of estimates provided. Identifies and manages key dependencies within a project. Gather project metrics, assesses variances, and determines impacts to plan. Plans and implements changes, with approvals as necessary.

Quality ManagementEnsures deliverables completed at a level of quality that fulfills the needs for which they were defined. Ensures quality review process planned and completed before implementing the deliverables. Inspects quality review process and implement improvements throughout project lifecycle to ensure on time and on budget project delivery. Develops productive working relationship with business lead, service providers, project team, and management.

Procurement ManagementCreates and maintains plans for procurement that are aligned with and recorded against the project budget. Validates amounts spent and ensures completion of services rendered or goods received prior to payment. Ensures that all PO’s, invoices, and payments are approved and processed in compliance with policies and contractual agreements.

Portfolio Planning and TrackingEnsures benefit data is qualified by Accounting Controller and recorded on Statement of Work and benefits forecast. Confirms with business to ensure a control plan is documented and the appropriate control plan owner(s) are assigned before project closure.

MentoringProvides the project team and service providers with constructive feedback as it pertains to project and department performance. Coaches or mentors less experienced PMO personnel.

Continuous ImprovementAdheres to, develops, and integrates policies, best practices, project standards, procedures, quality objectives, and metrics for executing projects and assessing projects. Gathers, assesses, and communicates project lessons learned and proposes improvements to PMO service quality and processes within the IT department.

All Other DutiesPerforms all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks.

Technical Skills:

Project ManagementUses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while guiding and training others on managing projects and/or programs within desired cost, time and quality parameters.

Costing and BudgetingUses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently on costing, budgeting and finance tasks while providing guidance and training to others.

Verbal CommunicationApplies comprehensive knowledge to act independently while providing guidance and training to others on using clear and effective verbal communications skills to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans or policies.

Planning and OrganizingUses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives.

ExperienceSubstantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level. (5+ years)
