Responsibilities:
  • Candidate will be responsible for guaranteeing strength and durability requirements of vehicle body subsystems and components of the products for this global automotive company.
  • Construction of high quality FE meshes and models of complete body subsystems and components.
  • Conduct non-linear ABAQUS FE solutions for fatigue and strength evaluation.
  • Conduct nCode fatigue post-processing to evaluate fatigue life.
  • Clear, confident presentation and documentation of engineering conclusions.
  • Lead research activities to develop new, and improve existing, CAE methods.
  • Occasional test validation and investigations related to FE models and test requirements.
  • When performance concerns arise from CAE validation, the candidate will be responsible for developing appropriate design solution strategies and work closely with design departments for implementation.
  • Actively analyze multiple components

Required Skillset:
  • High comprehension of body simulation and finite element analysis tools
  • Deep understanding of Abaqus - standard and explicit
  • Familiarity with Nastran
  • Understand FE safe
  • BSME or related automotive engineering degree and a minimum of 5+ year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Related advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
  • Candidate should have an excellent strength of materials background.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience of FEA pre-processor software, such as Hypermesh or ANSA is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience of FEA solvers, such as ABAQUS, Nastran and nCode is also required.
  • Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.

Bonus Skillset:
  • CATIA V5 knowledge is desired.
  • Candidate from graduate research programs preferred.
  • Candidates with NVH backgrounds will also be considered.

Location: Raymond, Ohio (Hybrid schedule 3 days/ week onsite.)

Type: Contract

Duration: 12 months with a possibility of a 12-month extension
