- Candidate will be responsible for guaranteeing strength and durability requirements of vehicle body subsystems and components of the products for this global automotive company.
- Construction of high quality FE meshes and models of complete body subsystems and components.
- Conduct non-linear ABAQUS FE solutions for fatigue and strength evaluation.
- Conduct nCode fatigue post-processing to evaluate fatigue life.
- Clear, confident presentation and documentation of engineering conclusions.
- Lead research activities to develop new, and improve existing, CAE methods.
- Occasional test validation and investigations related to FE models and test requirements.
- When performance concerns arise from CAE validation, the candidate will be responsible for developing appropriate design solution strategies and work closely with design departments for implementation.
- Actively analyze multiple components
- High comprehension of body simulation and finite element analysis tools
- Deep understanding of Abaqus - standard and explicit
- Familiarity with Nastran
- Understand FE safe
- BSME or related automotive engineering degree and a minimum of 5+ year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Related advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
- Candidate should have an excellent strength of materials background.
- Minimum of 5 years experience of FEA pre-processor software, such as Hypermesh or ANSA is required.
- Minimum of 5 years experience of FEA solvers, such as ABAQUS, Nastran and nCode is also required.
- Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.
- CATIA V5 knowledge is desired.
- Candidate from graduate research programs preferred.
- Candidates with NVH backgrounds will also be considered.
