Job Description

Huntington Ingalls Industries - Mission Technologies (HII-MT) is seeking an Inventory / Stock Technician to oversee stock of electronic and mechanical components used for prototyping at two Dayton, OH locations (to include on base location at Wright Patterson Air Force Base - WPAFB).

Essential Job Responsibilities

Compiles records concerned with quantity, cost, and type of material received, in stock, or issued. Requisitions needed supplies; verifies material received to determine irregularities in order; inspects articles and rejects defective ones. Prepares inventory records and reports and investigates discrepancies in stock counts.
  • Maintain stock at appropriate levels and reorder components as needed
  • Maintain database of stocked components including part #s, specifications, and location
  • Create build kits for projects based on Bill of Materials from design engineers -Fill from stock for components that are stocked -Order any components that are not stocked -Gather all items in a project box -Track status of items and provide updates to engineer including when kit is complete -Deliver kit to technicians for assembly -Inventory and store project residuals after assembly
  • Continually seeks new ways to improve quality and efficiencies.
  • Work with technical staff to identify new items that should be stocked or obsolete items that can be removed from stock

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Minimum Secret clearance required to start
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS clearance with enhanced security checks.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an industrial environment. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
