Job Description:Java Software Engineer (Associate to Senior)Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; Position is remoteAEP Energy, Information Technology AEP Energy is hiring three Java Software Engineer (Software Developer) positions for two development teams:• Solution Engineer, Associate• Solution Engineer• Solution Engineer, SeniorThis remote role (preferably residing near Columbus, OH) is posted at more than one grade level and will be filled based on commensurate education and/or relevant experience. It is written at the lower grade level and expectations increase with the higher-grade levels. Will be a member of an Agile team developing and delivering high-quality software solutions, adding business value, and providing production support. Assisting with the design, development, and installation of user stories. Helping build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with architectural standards and design/development best practices. Participating in the testing process through test review and analysis and collaboration with Quality Analysts. Collaborating heavily with Project Management, Business Analysts, Infrastructure Job Families, and AEPE Business Units.Additional Information:- Provides software development as a member of a hybrid (onshore/offshore) cross-functional Agile development team of 7-10 engineers focused on a diverse backlog of user stories ranging from technical debt, platform and architecture improvements, production support, and business unit enhancements.- Both teams are planned to be completely onshore by the end-of-year 2022. - The technical stack is Java microservices, JavaScript/Angular frontend frameworks, and legacy Java monolithic applications.- For the AEP Energy Supply retail platform suite of applications. RequirementsMinimum Requirements:Solution Engineer Associate Basic Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.Experience: No additional experience is required.An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered. Solution Engineer Basic Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.Experience: 2 years of relevant work experience is required.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Solution Engineer Sr. Basic Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required. Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required.An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
