Job Description:Job DescriptionJava Software Engineer, PrincipalColumbus, OH; Chicago, IL; Position is remoteAEP Energy, Information Technology AEP Energy is hiring two Technical Lead positions for two Agile development teams:Production Support Technical Lead• Provide technical leadership and software solutions development for a hybrid (onshore/offshore) cross-functional Agile development team of 7-10 engineers focused on the daily production support of a suite of applications for AEPE's retail platform. The tech stack is Java microservices, JavaScript/Angular frontend framework, and legacy Java monolithic applications. • Includes user-submitted Production Support Request tickets from all application areas of the platform and require quick resolution. This may include Critical Incidents (all-hands on deck problems), primarily during core business hours. • Lead problem solving, root cause analysis, and mitigation/remediation steps for problems. • Partner with the Technology Manager of the team to hire additional remote/local engineering and QA (Quality Assurance) staff to localize the entire team. Rapid Development Technical Lead• Provide technical leadership and software solutions development for a hybrid (onshore/offshore) cross-functional Agile development team of 7-10 engineers focused on a diverse backlog of user stories ranging from technical debt to IT improvements, to business unit requests, also known as the Rapid Workstream. The tech stack is Java microservices, JavaScript/Angular frontend framework, and legacy Java monolithic applications. • Partner with the Technology Manager of the team to hire additional remote/local engineering and QA (Quality Assurance) staff to localize the entire team.Leader of an Agile team developing and delivering high-quality software solutions, adding business value, and providing production support. Assisting with the design, development, and installation of user stories. Helping build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with architectural standards and design/development best practices. Participating in the testing process through test review and analysis and collaboration with Quality Analysts. Collaborating heavily with Project Management, Business Analysts, Infrastructure Job Families, and AEPE Business Units. RequirementsSolution Engineer Principal Basic Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.Experience: 7 years relevant work experience is required.An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
