Here, you will work with and learn from some of our best caregivers, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.Using sophisticated laboratory equipment, Lab Technicians look for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, match blood for transfusions, analyze the chemical content of body fluids, and test for drug levels in the blood (to show how a patient is responding to treatment). They also count cells and look for abnormal cells in blood and body fluids. They use microscopes, cell counters, automated equipment and computerized analyzers in the clinical laboratory area. The laboratory findings are then conveyed to the physician.A caregiver in this position works 6:00AM - 2:30PM.A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Receive and accession laboratory specimens into the LIS.
Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens.
Perform specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems.
Verify accurate documentation relative to specimen processing.
Maintain patient, specimen and tracking data using the laboratory computer system, tracking and software/devices.
Prepare specimens for analysis and accept or reject specimens.
Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting and routine maintenance).
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED.
One year of lab experience.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate's degree in science. This will substitute the required experience.

Ability to perform specimen handling techniques and take measurements.
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to move throughout the department and hospital system.
Handles and transports biohazardous materials and potential carcinogens.
Ability to differentiate color, hue, saturation, and tones.
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
