Lead Project Manager - needs to be onsite 3 or 4 days per week and must be in NE Ohio

SummaryThe Lead IT Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards and meet customer expectations through the use of our client’s defined project management processes and use of PMBOK best practices. The Lead IT Project Manager will manage all technical and non-technical aspects of assigned projects. Plans, schedules, and ensures timely completion of the project. Assembles project teams, and manages resource allocation and day-to-day operations of the project. Serves as liaison between project team members and management team regarding projects. Projects assigned to a Lead IT Project Manager are typically large in size, of high complexity and utilize both internal and external (3rd party vendor) resources. The Lead IT Project Manager will regularly oversee the work of other internal or 3rd party project managers as part of projects they are assigned. The Lead IT Project manager is viewed as a leadership role with the IT Project Management Office, with increased authority, autonomy and viewed as having expert-level knowledge in all areas of project management and project delivery. Additionally, The Lead IT Project Manager will provide key thought leadership into project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. The Lead IT Project Manager will regularly be responsible for mentoring and coaching of project managers.

Responsibilities & Competencies
  • Oversight of Internal and 3rd party project managers
  • Experience working with Integration partners
  • Setting project goals and establishing plans to meet those goals
  • Maintaining project timeframes, budgeting estimates and status reports
  • Maintaining resources for projects
  • Coordinating project team members and developing schedules and individual responsibilities
  • Implementing approaches that deliver projects on schedule and within budget
  • Using project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence
  • Contract & Vendor Management
  • Ensuring projects follow our clients defined Project and Solution Delivery methodologies

SUPERVISORY DUTIESThe Lead IT Project Manager does not have direct management responsibilities but will regularly oversee the work of other internal or 3rd party project managers as part of projects they are assigned along with needing a strong background in oversight of vendor delivered solutions

  • Advanced Project management skills in both Waterfall and Agile Delivery

Education & Experience
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science
  • Minimum Experience: 8 years Project Management Experience; PMP or PRINCE2 Certification
  • Experience Preferred: 2+ Years Retail IT Experience
