Job Description

You will perform a wide range of activities to include service and repair of all machines, equipment and structures in and around the site. This position is on second and third shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide support to the production team to produce superior quality materials that meet/exceed client needs. This role supports the needs of manufacturing and facilities to ensure both are in top working order.
  2. Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
  3. Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
  4. Assures correct positioning of production machines.
  5. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
  6. Properly inspect and maintain shop equipment, in accordance with OSHA regulation.
  7. Installs functional and structural parts in devices or equipment. Prepares new machines and production equipment for operation.
  8. Follows a strict preventive maintenance schedule to lessen exposure to downtime related repairs and maintenance.
  9. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as pneumatic tools, motors, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment using testing instruments, hand and power tools and precision-measuring instruments.
  10. Disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts.
  11. Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
  12. Cleans and lubricates parts.
  13. Inspects completed repairs.

Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  2. 3 - 5 years demonstrated experience in a mechanical repair environment. Applied education and/or apprenticeship is required.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the use of precision measuring equipment and hand tools.
  4. Demonstrated experience/working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry and shop math.
  5. Demonstrated experience/working knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics.
  6. Must be proficient in the set-up and operation of mills, drills, lathes, grinders, surface grinders, etc.
  7. Good interpersonal skills, mathematical aptitude, mechanical/technical skills and aptitude and logical problem solving skills necessary.
  8. Good verbal and written communication.
  9. Able to work in fast-paced environment with a highly participative work system.
  10. Ability to work independently in a safe and timely manner necessary.
  11. Must be motivated towards productivity improvements, safety and quality awareness.
