Job Description

Directly supervises medical manufacturing employees. Monitors work, alters schedules to meetunforeseen conditions, and controls load factors and workflow to ensure maximum use ofavailable capacity and effective use of labor, tools, and equipment. Design and implement operations improvement strategies for safety, cost, quality, training,inventory, and services. Analyze and draw information for daily operational needs and improvement for the team.Provide prompt problem solving for key issues, driving through from root cause identification toproblem resolution. Responsible for key operational measures within business unit (service, quality, productivity,cost, and safety). Manage the department spending activities and monitor Spend Tracker. Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors. Identifies andanalyzes problems, plans, tasks, and solutions. Represents the team, presenting team suggestions and recommendations on processes andprocedures in accordance with organization cost, quality, and productivity goals. Maintain quality control processes to ensure products/services meet quality standards; leadimplementation of process improvements. Drive improvement strategies in all key metric areas; manage production flow, staffingschedule, and resources to budget and plan. Ensure best practices and standard operating procedures are followed by conducting frequentbusiness audits. Lead continuous improvement activities, 5S, housekeeping, and recycling programs. Lead theefforts to create a safety conscious environment; be actively involved in safety initiatives. Leadmonthly safety meetings and daily safety huddles. Collaborate with other functional areas to resolve problems and develop improvedmanufacturing processes. Make efforts to reduce manufacturing waste and process complexity. Understand and ensure compliance with cGMP, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulations. Assist in theinvestigation of customer complaints and nonconformances as required. Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and people. Train and provide development opportunities for staff. Ensure annual goals are completed andcommunicated. Perform general management duties, exercising authority concerning staffing needs, trainingneeds, performance appraisals, skill development, timekeeping, consistent application oforganizational policies, promotions, and terminations. Act as a team role model and change-agent. Positively lead and influence team members topartner together to achieve individual and business goals. Coordinate team efforts, create and manage a regional strategy and team-operating plan. Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred with concentration in engineering,operations management, or related field. 3-5 years of managerial experience in a medical device manufacturing environment ispreferred. Demonstrated leadership skills: ability to achieve operational results through delegation andteamwork while gaining / maintaining respect from all levels of the organization. Demonstrated record of successfully implementing and sustaining improvement actions on theproduction floor. Ability to trouble-shoot and effectively problem-solve issues and implement solutions to preventrecurring problems. Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback, coach, support, and develop a diversegroup of individuals. Knowledge of manufacturing operations systems, best practices, processes, and technology. Effective communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills. Demonstrated effective time management, project management, and organizational skills. Must promote and demonstrate Avery Dennison Values – Integrity, Service, Teamwork,Innovation, Excellence, and Community. Must be willing and able to work flexible shift hours and adjust schedule to meet business andemployee needs. Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.
